A. Boue about the plague in Pristina. Facsimile from the book.

On our third visit to Pristina, in 1838, we were told that the plague had struck during December together with the frost, from which up to 80, 100 and 140 people had died a day, and in all 6,000 people, numbers that are probably exaggerated. During the first eight weeks, many of the Slavs took refuge in the mountains. Some isolated cases have appeared, we were told, also in Prizren and Gjakovë, which are neighboring countries with Albanians, as far as Manastir.
