There is no information about when the mosque was built, but its existence in Pristina is documented in the tahrir register of the Sanjak of Vilçiterina from 977/1569-70, where the neighborhood of the mosque of Jusuf Çelebi is recorded. It can be said that after the mosque, a minbar was added and the status of the pulpit changed to a mosque. In the years 1732–1767, the mosque had a very rich religious cadre, which consisted of imam, hatip and myteveli.
