The Gjinollis, although widely known in Kosovo as a large family that ruled Prishtina, are little documented so far in scientific articles and writings. In the following fragments, we intend to summarize some of the main moments through which the nobles of this local dynasty have gone through, or have been its main actors. By preserving the format of the Prishtina in history platform, the texts will not be excessively long, nor will they be overloaded with references. The data presented is based for the most part on archival records newly brought to the Archives of Prishtina, supplemented with some preliminary findings from researchers (however few) that have dealt with this issue. For additional information, however, readers can also browse through the original documents of the time, which in some cases touch precisely on the theme of the Gjinolli dynasty, and which have also been translated into Albanian, English and Serbian.
A biographical sketch for Maliq Pasha and Jashar Pasha was done as early as 1972 by Hasan Kaleshi and Ismail Eren (cf. 2006, 157–158, 166), but this, although brief, is conveyed with great inaccuracy; We can find slightly more complete data by Rexha (2016, 26–58); With fresh details and from other sources, not only Ottoman, there are two articles from Shoshum, one about Jashar Pasha (2018, 849–872) and the other about the Gjinolli family in general (2020, 11–39). Important documentary information about Maliq and Jashar Pasha, but without any attempt at biography, can be found in the articles published by Nakicevic (1969) and Jaka (1974). (See Bibliography)
